The Trento Smart City Labs are a series of meetings organized in the main squares and parks, in the schools and in the twelve districts of the city to promote the apps and the smart services available in Trento, by providing the citizens with information and support for their installation and usage

The Labs started in September 2018 with three outdoor meetings (parco di Melta, piazza Cesare Battisti e piazza Pasi) where the citizens could ask for information and support at the Trento Smart City team’s booth. The Labs continued in some of the high schools of the city where the students challenged each other over the knowledge of the available services.
Considering that more than 1600 people have been reached during all the events organised so far, the Labs have proven to be an effective way to let people know and appreciate the smart opportunities that can make their life easier. The citizens could also provide opinions and suggestions by filling in a dedicated survey.
Starting from January 2019 the Labs are going to take place in each of the twelve districts of the city. On all these occasions, in addition to a traditional information point, the apps and services will be by presented by means of an interactive game. The participants in the game will have the chance to win some nice prizes.
Based on the idea that “smart cities do not exist without smart citizens” (C. Ratti), the goal of the Trento Smart City Labs is to let people know, understand and appreciate the apps and services realised with the intention of making their daily life easier and improve the liveability of the city through technology and digital tools.
Updated information on the future meetings can be found on the official Municipality website - inside the Smart City thematic area and in the events calendar - on the Trento Smart City Facebook page and on the posters that will be displayed from time to time around the city.
