The e-motion project (where the "e" stands for "electric"), promoted by the Autonomous Province of Trento in collaboration with the Municipalities of Trento, Rovereto and Pergine, was born out of the desire to boost electric mobility in Trentino in order to safeguard the environment, improve the air quality and encourage a healthier lifestyle.
The proposed bike sharing service is an open type system (you can pick up the bike in one station and return it to a different location as long as you remain within the defined urban area) and it is based on an electronic card. The service is integrated with the smart cards available to the users of the provincial public transport (MITT system - Integrated Transport Mobility of Trentino). In this way, the user can access all the mobility systems in the area (bus, bicycle, train) using a single card.

The bicycles available in the area of Trento are approximately 550 (275 city bikes and 275 pedal-assisted bikes) but the number may vary because it is based on the actual availability.

The pedal-assisted bikes are equipped with a 250 W motor that allows the users to virtually reduce the slopes, giving the sensation of pedaling on flat ground even when climbing short stretches of road with slopes up to 10%. The declared autonomy is about 50 km.
