Faculty of Literature and Philosophy

The premises of the new Faculty of Literature and Philosophy occupy an area close to the historical centre, a sort of a transition zone between the traditional urban fabric and the new urban landscape.

The architectural solution devised by the architectural and engineering firm Ishimoto Europe differentiates the "fronts" according to the context they look onto, with the modulation of street façades and a clever dialogue with the public space. The introduction of transparent elements, alternating with façades in an opaque stone finish, help mediate the material impact of the whole project.

Five reserved parking lots along the via Tommaso Gar, at 20, 50 and 80 metres; other tree reserved sections are on the wide undergroung car park. The building is totally accessible; there are several lifts inside. The ramps lead to the auditorium and the platform lift to the stage. The disabeled toilets are on the second floor. The automatic front door is large 187 cm. The main lift (door 90 cm, dimensions 120×160 cm, external button braille panel 100 cm and the internal one is 100/125 cm). Other lifts to the upper floors (door 90 cm, dimensions 110×140 cm, external button panel 100 cm, and the internal one is 100/125 cm, Braille). Two lifts lead to the underground car park (door 90 cm, dimensions 109×139 cm); (door 89 cm, dimensions 120×149 cm). Platform lift (dimensions 78×130 cm, external button panel 100 cm and the internal one is 97 cm). Ramps (gradient from 6.8% to 8.5% for lenghts from 190 to 800 cm). Disabled toilets (door 90 cm, dimensions 201×179, wc with a height of 46 cm and with handles on both sides, vertically on the opposite side of the juxtaposition).
