The fountain by Andrea Malfatti takes its name from the statue representing Bacchus.

In particular it represents a young boy wearing a sheepskin and with bunches of grapes in his hair. He is carrying a wineskin from which the water flows. His gaze is pointed towards Casa Crivelli, near which there was the tailor’s shop where worked Mariolina, a girl Malfatti was fallen in love with. This fountain is a juvenile work of the sculptor, made in sandstone in 1864 after his return to Trento from Milano.
The fountain consists of a circular cup with an octagonal pedestal on a base with two steps. It is located in a corner of Piazza Pasi, where in the past seasonal workers met the rich agricultural owners in order to negotiate their wages.
