Cesare Zocchi’s work, dated back to1896, develops on three levels, Hell, Purgatory and Paradise, surmounted by the poet’s statue.

All around the square are modern buildings: Palazzo della Regione (1958-1965) by rationalist architect Adalberto Libera; the railway station by Angiolo Mazzoni; Grand Hotel Trento (1940), a rationalist work by Giovanni Lorenzi. The Palazzo della Provincia Autonoma di Trento, built in 1874 on a design by Francesco Renzi, stands out from the other buildings thanks to its neo-renaissance style. Inside, the "Depero Room" is decorated with a cycle of paintings by the futurist painter.
