Osservatorio delle stelle

The observatory is equipped with powerful telescopes which, with the help of experts, become perfect tools to admire the sky.

The astronomical observatory “Terrazza delle stelle” (in English Terrace of the Stars) is situated in the valley of Viote on Monte Bondone, in an ideal position to observe the starry sky: protected from city lights while not being far from Trento.

Observing the sky is not the only possible activity here:classical and pop music concerts, scientific theatre performances, shows, events for children and in-depth astronomy courses are regularly organised.

During the day the sun is the protagonist, showing his amazing hidden side thanks to telescopes with special filters.

The observatory dome is made of polished steel, a solution that allows to create an amazing mirror effect: day and night views reflect on the dome, metaphor of the relationship between heaven and earth.

The main tool of the observatory is a computer controlled reflector telescope: with its 80 cm diameter it can be used to observe the sky in all its magnificence.
