At the S.A.S.S., in a 1,700 sqm area under piazza Cesare Battisti and Teatro Sociale, visitors can admire a large district of the ancient Tridentum.

It was brought to light as a result of archaeological excavations during the works of restoration and enlargement of the theatre. In the site it is possible to admire a long stretch of the eastern city walls, the remains of a tower and a long segment of the “Decumanus Minor” paved with local red stone. A duct system believed to be part of a complex sewage network was discovered underneath the road. The visitor can also see parts of dwellings with domestic interiors, floors with mosaic decorations, rooms with floor heating systems, courtyards, a perfectly preserved well and a glassmaker workshop.
