The tower was originally built in the Middle Ages and belonged to the Negri of S. Pietro.

Their coat of arms - framed by the coats of arms of other noble families - is still located on the pediment of the balconied doorway. The façade was refurbished in 1546 - as documented by a date in the attic - to get rid of the fortified look of the time and keep its style updated. The refined stone details of the windows and the elegant vaulted arch on the second floor are examples of its late Renaissance style.
