The main body, with its two rooms frescoed by Marcello Fogolino on the ground floor, dates back to the early 16th century. It hosts now the Rectorate of the University of Trento.

But the palace took on its current look in the 17th century, when its two imposing façades and the open galleries in the courtyard underwent restyling through the joining together of different sections of the building. The three crest-bearing puttos crowning the balcony - located over the imposing front door supported by telamons - were sculpted in the 18th century by Cristoforo Benedetti da Castione.
