Permanent exhibition of belongings, images and documents concerning the life of Alcide De Gasperi, famous statesman from Trento.

Here the visitor can find not only tickets, objects, and notes, but also the original version of the Constitutional Charter. Pictures are shown in their original version - some creased, some other with relatives’ reminders – in order to make the visitor enter, almost in a physical way, in Alcide’s home.
Some official video clips by Istituto Luce combined with some other amateur videos by inhabitants of Trentino, documenting a fellow countryman becoming famous, give De Gasperi a new life and give also back to the audience the atmosphere of the 50s.
In Spazio De Gasperi it is also possible to admire Alcide’s personal writing desk, which had been used daily by the statesman in his house in Via Bonifacio VIII in Rome (today Via Alcide De Gasperi).
In addition to the traditional guided tour for all age groups, the educational area of the Fondazione Museo Storico del Trentino (Trentino Historical Museum Fundation) will add value to Spazio De Gasperi by inserting it to wider projects for schools, concerning the history of Trentino autonomy and the Italian Republic. The activities will take place in the underground room, with also a photography exhibition and the screening of a video clip which collects interviews with historians about Alcide De Gasperi’s private and politic life.
This exhibition is realized thanks to the donation of Maria Romana De Gasperi.
